Dr. Dhruba Gautam

Dr. Dhruba Gautam is Senior disaster governance specialist and  senior consultant of IFS Nepal.He has completed his PhD on Disaster Governance and Masters degree in Natural Resources Management, furthermore, MA in Sociology. He has more than 25 years of work experience in development field. His thematic work areas are Disaster Risk Reduction, Urban Resilience, Disaster Governance, WASH, Climate Change Adaptation, Livelihood Resilience; Humanitarian Response. He has national and international consulting experiences from countries including India, China, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Bhutan and Indonesia in the field DRR and climate change adaptation. He is an active team leader and consultant in disparate project activities with USAID/PACT International, Plan Nepal, The ford Foundation/MRMG, European Union, DIPECHO, mercy corps, UNDP, Save the children and many more. He is keen person of qualitative research, monitoring and evaluation in different sector of development.


Mr. Sagendra Tiwari

Mr. Sagendra Tiwari is Senior Consultant at IFS Nepal. He has completed Master in Science in Resource Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry. He demonstrates passion for natural resources based livelihoods security/improvement through ecosystem-based adaptation and mitigation against vulnerabilities induced due to climate change.He has international consulting experiences in the field of Natural Resources management and conservation from Cambodia, Afghanistan, Iran and India. Mr. Tiwari also has in-country consulting experiences from a wide range of Natural Resource management and development relevant projects and working with majority of Nepal’s international conservation and development partners.



Ms. Yasodha Shrestha

Ms. Yasodha Shrestha is a Gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) expert and a senior consultant at IFS Nepal.She has worked in the development field since 1992, in affiliation with reputed organizations like CARE Nepal, MS Nepal, CECI Nepal and Danida Human Rights and Good Governance Advisory Unit (Danida HUGOU). She has good experience  in the areas of good governance, peace building gender equality and social inclusion, decentralization, and community mobilization. She has as Inclusive Democracy Advisor for DanidaHUGOU, focusing on the promotion of an inclusive and democratic political culture and system in Nepal. The program provided support for reform and strengthening of democratic actors and institutions, and enhancing public dialogue and communication.Earlier from Dec 2014 to Sept 2015, she has worked as Senior Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist at the GESI Project, Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), which is funded by ADB.

She has  also worked as Human Resource Development Specialist (ADB Consultant) at Establishing Women and Children Service Center Project at Women and Children Service Directorate, Police Headquarters, Crime Investigation Department, Naxal for ten months from November 2016 to September 2017. strengthening the capacity of WCSCs and district level and VDC level GBV control networks


Dr. Raju Ghimire

Dr. Raju Ghimire is a senior consultant at IFS Nepal who has completed Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics. He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Michigan State University (MSU), Michigan, USA. He also worked as a Senior Agricultural Officer in the Ministry of Agricultural Development, Government of Nepal for 15 years. He completed M.Sc. in Environmental Protection and Agricultural Food Production from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. He has experience in designing models and conducting impact evaluation research of USAID’s Feed the Future program in Asia and Africa.

His research areas include impact evaluation, agricultural technology adoption, sustainable development, livelihood improvement and poverty reduction, household income and food security, agribusiness and economics policy research, and welfare of rural communities. Dr. Ghimire has track records of peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. He has reviewed papers for publications in several journals and conducted training in statistical software for data analysis. He has excellent knowledge of data analysis using various statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, EViews, and SAS.


Suman Chapagain

With a Civil Engineering background, is an expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS), planning, monitoring, and evaluation of disaster risk reduction and resilience project, post disaster assessment and response planning. He has an experience of evaluation and monitoring of urban DRR projects. He has also an experience of scoping study for urban resiliency project, needs assessment for humanitarian implementation program and real time evaluation of post flood response activities. He has been working as a consultant in various DRR related projects for several national and international level organizations. He has conducted a case study aftermath of Nepal Terai Flood of 2017 in Gaur Municipality and has conducted several researches in geo-hazards. He has great interest in integrated approach of Urban Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience.
