Disaster risk reduction is the concept and practice of reducing disaster risks through systematic efforts to analyse and reduce the causal factors of disasters. Reducing exposure to hazards, lessening vulnerability of people and property, wise management of land and the environment, and improving preparedness and early warning for adverse events are all examples of disaster risk reduction.Disaster risk reduction includes disciplines like disaster management, disaster mitigation and disaster preparedness, but DRR is also part of sustainable development.
IFS has a mass of experts in the fields of Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation, good governance, rights-based approach, and advocacy works with governments, bilateral, UN agencies, non-government, and civil society institutions. The primary purpose of IFS is to help INGOs /NGOs to foster the community based organizations within each country via different projects and operations. IFS also works in close collaboration with NGOs and INGOs in providing technical to refine methodology and framework, capacity building of environment section.
